Resumo

RESUMO: A evolução do direito internacional não pode acontecer sem que os juristas da atualidade voltem seus olhares às razões que tinham os fundadores da disciplina ao esboçarem as normas de conduta a serem cumpridas pelas nações que vivem em comunidade. Em muitos casos, a razão de ser de algumas normas persistiu ao tempo e aos novos interesses da sociedade internacional. Esse artigo trata de uma relevante contribuição de Vattel para desenvolvimento do desenho das imunidades diplomáticas e busca apontar os pontos de sua teoria que vieram a ser codificados e permanecem justificáveis no contexto do direito internacional contemporâneo.

ABSTRACT: The evolution of international law can not happen without current lawyers turning their eyes to the reasons that the founders of the discipline had in outlining the norms of conduct to be fulfilled by the nations living in community. In many cases, the raison d'être of some norms persisted in the time and new interests of international society. This article deals with a relevant contribution of Vattel to the development of the design of diplomatic immunities and seeks to point out the points of his theory that came to be codified and remain justifiable in the context of contemporary international law.
