Abstract: The work is a commented translation whose first part (the first tablet) was published in Nuntius Antiquus Journal, volume 10 (2014). In this sense, the goal is twofold: on the one hand, present something of my translation of the classical Babylonian version called Epic of Gilgámesh (whose original title is He saw the abyss), attributed to the "exorcist" (mašmaššu) Sîn-lēqi-unninni and composed around the thirteenth century B. C.; On the other hand, examine the thematic power lines that give cohesion to the poem, considering the connection that the heroic deeds with sex, death and civilized life have with the poem.

Key-words: Epic of Gilgámesh, Babylonian Poems, Heroic Deeds
